Do I need council approval or an engineer for my retaining wall?
It depends on the height of the wall and your council area, but a lot of retaining walls across the Northern Beaches and North Shore do need either council approval, an engineered design, or both. We factor this into the process from the start, rather than leaving you to work it out separately.
Which material is right for my property, concrete sleeper, timber, sandstone or gabion?
It comes down to your soil, the height and slope you're retaining, and the look you're after. Concrete sleeper suits most sloped suburban blocks, timber suits a softer garden look, sandstone suits period or heritage-style homes, and gabion suits wetter or shifting ground.
